its a device u can plug into your cars electrical system and u can change settings and adjust things to get max horsepower and performance out of your car, I think u might be able to adjust things like air-fuel ratio, timing, stuff like that, Ive never had one but Ive heard about them some

it wont hurt ur engine. you can get tunes put in them so you donthave to mess with the settings also.

They are a very big thing once to start modding your car. For every mod you buy, you will get a better gain from it if you tune your engine to know it has that new part on it.

is it worth doing dynotunes($110) over getting a tuner then getting tunes for your car (that you have to pay for...($400+tunes by professional) ??

opinions? because dont you still have to buy the tunes and such .. ? im not sure since i dont own one..

putting your car on a dyno and having a proffessional tune it is much better than a handheld tuner. but if you arent that heavily modded a handheld tuner will work fine or get someone to put a tune on there for your mods.

tell your tuner your mod list as he will write a tune for you based on it.

if i buy a tuner now for a 97 gt, non pi, and then put a pi motor in. will that change anything for the tuner. like will i have to buy another one for the 99+ stangs. also. if a tuner says it tunes 98 and up. what is the difference in that and the 97. i know the 98 came with 25 more hp but they were pretty much the same thing. both have obd2 ports i believe

just make sure to erase the tune from your 97 motor before you take out the motor and you can still use the same tuner on your next engine.

as long as your engine is obd2 it will work..

i think it is but don't quote me on that...

look for a plug under your steering wheel near the center consol that is where you would plug in the xcal.
