Some querstions regarding the "GT500 Shelby"

Greetings,

I am thinking of buying a 2009 GT500 Shelby, however I have some questions that needs some clarifications if you please.

1. From the car reviews, I noticed that they keep mentioning that it has 4 seats, so they are assuming that people can fit in those back seats. Now my question would be is it really true that people would fit in those tiny back seats ? because when i tried it at the dealer, i looked back and those seats were tiny. i don't think a human can fit there with the those front seats backed up.

2. I tried looking for this info on almost all websites. but unfortunately it is not mentioned anywhere. basically my garage is higher than the streets level, so my normal day use car can go up there as long as i drive really slow. now for the GT500 I know its going to scratch either at the front or the back, not mentioning the middle as well. So what i would like to know is "What is the Ride Height of the car its self. as on the Ford web site, they only show the Total height. while I am looking for the "Ride" height, front and back if possible. in order to adjust the height of the ramp on my garage door.

My house ramp is huge, and I am currently driving a Crown Victoria, and the car's ride height are as follows:

Front: 17 cm
Middle: 15 cm
Rear: 24 cm

So Converted to inches it would be as follows:

Front: 6.7 in
Middle: 5.9 in
Rear: 9.4 in

and here are some pics of the Ramp and my car going up that mountain

This is my Crown Victoria.

And this is the All Mighty Ramp ... from 2 angles

Now as you can see, this is the front of my car and as you can see even thou it is a Crown Victoria. look how close it gets to the ramp start. so the Mustang is gonna scratch 100%

Now the great rear end, and look how close that is

Last but not least, the middle of the car. its belly is kissing that ramp

So if some one can give me those Ride Height measurments, I would really appreciate it

3. How often does the car needs service, I know Ford build cars to live. I mean my Crown Victoria never saw the dealer service center after I bought it. it just keeps on living. But what about the Mustang GT500 Shelby ? does it require a lot of Service visits. to check up on the Super charge ?

4. What are the most issues you are facing with the car currently, I know that the car will eventually need service visits to screw up some loose nails because of harsh surface of the roads and lets face it those 19 inc wheels are not that comfy.

5. I red that the GT V8 has this color function called "My Color" i believe. does the Shelby 2009 has this function. to change the colors of the "Dashboard, Leg room, cup holders" Is the My color option just like the one in the normal GT ?

6. After viewing so many reviews, I noticed that they keep mentioning that the Clutch and Gear require some muscle power. is it hard to operate or lets stay harsh needs a lot of muscle ?

Thats most of the questions I have in mind right now, I thank you for your time for reading my thread.

Kind regards,
Forked Tongue.

1. the back seats aren't actually that bad. im 5'11 and i can fit back there easily.
2. gt500 shouldn't bottom out or scratch on that ramp if you back it up maybe? idk
3. i asssume it just needs normal service
4. i have no issues with my car.
5, not sure
6. no any average guy should be able to handle the clutch

hope this helps

Ohh cool, then I guess the car at the dealers had its seats moved back as far as possible thats why the space back there seemed tiny.

yeah thats the issue, guess ill have to do some construction on that ramp and change it a bit to make the ramp angle lower for Ze Mustang.

you might want to talk to a dealership and ask em these questions too though. i don't have a gt500 so i wouldn't be the best one to ask. there might be some service you gotta do after a certain amount of miles but who knows? lol

Believe me man, You are better than our dealer here and have way more information lol.

Our regional dealer currently has 2009 GT500 "Shelby" mustangs only. all of the GT Mustangs V8 2009 are sold out. and he will not be getting the 2010 till Jan / Feb 2010.

The current Price for the Shelby 2009 is $49,000 ... The previous price of the GT V8 2009 was $34,000 Thats before it was sold out of course.

They are assuming that the new price of the 2010 Shelby will be $62,000 - $67,000 ... While the 2010 GT V8 might be between $39,000 - $49,000.

So The current price for the 2009 Shelby is actually the future price for the 2010 GT V8. lol

Based on my personal "Logic" I thought that It is better to get a 2009 Shelby, than to get a 2010 GT V8. Of course that is my personal opinion. and I might be horrifyingly wrong lol

And when ever I ask them anything, AND I mean anything like whats the car like ? How much HP does it have ? Whats the 0 to 60 on that thing ? Whats the Hight of the ride ? How much torque does it produce ? what type of shaker stereo does it have ? What does a Supercharger do ? What kind of Fuel does it take ?

They always answer the same answer "Yeah man that is one sweet ride. you should get it. don't let that chance slip !" .... lol

So you got my idea.

Well it generally sucks lol. I mean everything is prohibited here lol.

Alcohol is Prohibited ...
Any pornographic material is prohibited ...
The Internet is Blocked, and if there is a site with a pic of a girl in a bikiny it gets blocked lol

So you get the picture, its typical 3rd world stuff

But to be honest there is something that is not available in any country no matter how educated, or how high class they are, or how rich they are LOL,

Which is ..... drum roll ...... FUEL PRICES lol

I mean wow, people told me before that i should get the GT V8 for better Gas millage/Km.

But over here thats Wrong !! it is so cheap here i had to chose the GT 500 Shelby because lets face it who cares about gas prices lol

This is a FACT ... Gas in here is cheaper than water, and i am not joking!

1 Liter of water = $ 0.266

While fuel is cheaper, get this ...

1 Liter of Fuel = $ 0.106

So to calculate it in Gallons ... 1 Liter = 0.264 Gallon

Also 1 Gallon = 3.78 Liters

So if I am doing this right ...

1 Gallon (3.78) x 1 Liter of Fuel (0.106) = $ 0.40068

So 1 Gallon of Fuel here = $ 0.40068

Therefore my good Friend, I don't care about the above as long as I got these prices lol

It is a vehicle Heaven in here, people go to work in damn SUV's lol

LOL, Nah Saudi Arabia is full of American Cars.

Police Cars are "Crown Victoria's , Lumina, Caprice, Sierra, GMC's, or Toyota"

People mostly drive american cars. like Yukon, Tahoe, Superban, Sierra, From multiple years.

Because Fuel is cheap around here, Every family got an SUV. and or a pickup truck.

True there is some "Rich" People who prefer Mercedes or BMW cars. or even Porches and Italian sport cars.

But the most car you will see in Saudi Arabia. is the proud GMC/Chevrolet SUV lol

All the Thanks goes to those Dinosaurs who sacrificed their souls in our country millions of years ago LOL
