Wing


Hey, i was wondering if you replaced the stock wing on an 05 mustang with a ducktail wing would it make it any slower? Thanks!

probably not. i id go with the ducktail wing, i like how those look better than stock, especially with the s197's retro styling

yeha, I don't know why ford didn't just put a ducktail on it stock, but maby the stock wing helps it more than a ducktail, I dunno much about wings.

Anymore the wing is just to differentiate GTs from V6s, and make some V6 buyers spring for a "sport appearance package" and get the wing anyway. The way the spoiler's on there, it's really not making any difference aerodynamically anyway, so putting the ducktail on probably will put some downforce on there (well, at speeds above 100, at least).

Ummm... no. Increasing downforce is a tradeoff of speed for control. If it does have an effect, you'll lose some max mph. In F1 cars, they increase their downforce for tight, technical tracks where they need maximum grip, and decrease it for the big ovals where they need maximum speed.

The only thing that ducktail will do is give the car a different look it wont do diddly as far as performance.
