Racecraft by Saleen??

I was at my local dealer the other day, and was looking around and noticed that they had "Racecraft" Mustangs, by Saleen. They are brand new 08 MY cars, with a supercharger. They put out 420 hp. They also had an upgraded 485 hp version w/ a super shaker. My question is what is a racecraft and are they rare?? They seemed really cheap, probably because they were left over 08's that they want gone!!

They are really awesome cars, and seem like a great value! But what do you guys know about them?

I heard of Racecraft back in the 5.0 Fox body Era but not on the S197's. The prices seem very reasonable for a factory S/C'd Mustang.

As I understand it; Racecraft mustangs are an effort to market another optioned mustang through and with SALEEN products.
Ie. a RACECRAFT Mustang is 'sorta' like a SALEEN but not quite.

The Racecraft brand is being viewed (by some consumers) as the "bang for the buck SALEEN" ..... all the race history and tech behind SALEEN but marketed under a different name.

Are they rare? Yes. But, I wouldn't think in terms of it being a collectible because a comparably equipped S281 series mustang will net more attention because they are more recognizable.
Is it a great bang for the buck? Yes, and the performance should be great!

I agree, being leftovers the price is very appealing .... if it fits the bill, jump on it and know you can park with the SALEENs at the next car show and add some variety to the S281 and S281SC mob.

mx_57 has one, and its scary fast. of course he has done some work to his. anyways, me and him work at a saleen/racecraft dealer here in west ga and yes they are priced well for what they are. basically, these cars are a saleen without the big body kit and name. they still have the racecraft suspension and a saleen s/c, and you can even get the upgrade option with the saleen brakes. imo, i would rather have a racecraft than a saleen, just cuz im not a huge fan of the huge body kits, nor am i a fan of spending 55k on a car lol. these are great riding and handling cars tho. super nice for the price.

Well once again I was at Pioneer getting my oil changed, and noticed that the supershaker was missing. I asked Mike Z the GSM there where it had gone, and they sold it yesterday. They still have the other 2 avaiable, and he told me to check out the internet specials on them, there unbelivable!

White RC 420S- $28,991
Blue RC 420S w/custom deep tint- $29,834

You couldn't buy a used GT and put the s/c on it, and all the other accessories these have, for any cheaper! If anything the Racecrafts at these prices save you money and time, while having full warranty! **** truck payment! Think they will still be around in a 1.5 yrs? Lol. Oh btw they also got a black and silver 10' GT-500, sweet looking car, as well as the new 10' Saleen 435S, also awesome looking and way better sounding than stock.

Well they are all gone, apparently mustang sales have really been heating up lately, Mike Z GSM of Pioneer Ford told me they sold all 3 racecrafts in a month, as well as a leftover 08 GT and 09 GT.
