I would think that any 4v 4.6L block would work, terminator blocks are going to be iron, I'm guessing you want to stay with aluminum. I know that the later lincolns ran the 32v, I didn't know that the expedition ran a 32v, I thought it was the regular 2v motor. The navigator has the 5.4, but I believe the Aviator has the 4.6, Any Cobra from 96-01 should have that block (R models excepted, of course).
Or you could take the chance to get a stroker in there, since you're replacing your bottom end anyway... get one of the 5.0 kits... hehehheh.

Well the GT block is single over head cam, so it will not work. I would suggest a 5.0 stroker aswell, but if money is an issue, just rebuild with another block mention above.

actually the sohc block could work if you feel like spending the time and money to have the machine work done to retrofit the dohc heads. but then the real wortk will be to swap the front part of the motor. i thought i read where someone tried this on another forum.
the mark8 block would be you best bet i think. when they are properly buuilt the aluminum block can handle 1000hp the mark8 block were made in italy. place called teksid i believe. very goo d block from what i have read. as long as its a dohc motor it will work.why not for the 5.4 dohc!!! |
