Ford announced this in 2007 saying oil change intervals can go 7500 miles on new vehicles. yes it's obvious they are using full synthetic oils now. However, oil change intervals depend on your driving. By that I mean not necessarily how much of a lead foot you have, but your commute. Obviously if you are only driving 10 miles round trip to work and back (especially in the cold), you should change your oil sooner then others. Variables like that. Plus I think the mechanics are still recommending 5,000 miles for an oil change. I use Castrol Syntec synthetic oil in my car. The oil changes on that are every 6,000 miles. I usually do that, but I have gone 7,500 miles before I did an oil change once (things were EXTREMELY tight that month) and i asked the tech who was draining my oil how it looked. He said "looks like I just put it in".

So yes, you can go 7500 miles now before an oil change as ford recommends. I myself would do it sooner.

I went almost 9,000 miles on Royal Purple FS- that stuff is amazing. Still had plenty of lube/cooling property left, and never had a problem with it.

i change mine every 3-4k just becuase i have my foot to the floor most of the time(alot of ricers fags around here). i dont use synthetic though... so its alot cheaper. + a motorcraft filter FTW. But in any case it mostly matters how crazy you drive like he said

$30-$40 worth of oil isn't worth the cost of an engine.

I change my oil as soon as is starts to look dark.

I won't go over 4k even with a synthetic.

I change mine every 5,000 miles using Valvoline fully sythetic. Regular oil I would change it every 3,000.

I just skimmed past some of the reply's so maybe someone mentioned this, but the 2011 Mustang will have a recommendation of 10,000 miles. I go by the recommended 7500 on my 08 and have no problems. Back when I had my explorer, I had it changed every 3000 . I don't see it as necessary.

Depends on the car. I know that in my 300, even Mobile 1 full synthetic starts burning away at 5000 miles and its not even dark yet.
