Fix Scraping LTs
Alright, so after 2 years of driving my POS 300. I am finally about to get my stang back on the road. In doing so, I am thinking about the issues that I have had with it and how to fix them all before the Stang becomes my daily driver again.
Has anyone found a way to help limit the amount of scraping of the LT header flanges? I have MAC LT's and they don't scrape always, but they do on speed bumps and such if i'm not careful. I only have H&R Race springs, so my drop isn't even that large.

i wonder if you could weld a skid plate or something between the subframes and like transmission thing...idk its been way too long since ive looked under my stang, that could be waaay in different areas. other then that...since im lookin to drop a little more, guess ill go with shorties lol |

Raise it up my ass. I'm never driving a stock height mustang again...
Gross! I have been thinking I might be able to customize the headers some how, make them bend earlier so the collectors won't hit. I still have my isolators in. I have about a 1.5" drop and my stupid LT flanges hit crap. Its so annoying. I'm sure I'll get something a little more custom at some point, just annoying.

Welcome to the world of full length headers man. If you start bending and manipulating them youll lose power (as im sure you know). I would build a skid plate or raise the car. Thats about all you have to go for.
Hints the reason I sold mine man. |

You could modify them. Most people just wouldn't bother. it would be a lot of work for a pretty minor thing.
Guess I'll just have to settle for not being able to jump the train tracks

I'm just going to cut and form some sheet metal to weld around the bottoms of my LT's.

Atleast the 18's fill out some of the fender gap. And they have a wider look from the rear, fixing the chicken legs look from behind the car.
I still maintain that the stock look is about the worst look. Unless you put 22" wheels and lift it. Then you should be shot.
