How To: Build an Affordable Supercharger Kit
Hey everyone. As you know, I just finished building my supercharger kit pretty cheaply. I figured for all the help I got from people here, I should put this togeather and hopefully get it stickied so I can return the favor, and help people out.
I put togeather a full custom, Front Mount Intercooled Vortech V1 Kit. EVERYTHING IS HOTLINKED TO WHERE I EXACTLY BOUGHT IT! Things I bought used or from forums - Vortech V1 Head Unit - $325 (eBay) - Air to Air Front Mount Intercooler - $200 (SVTPerformance.com TheMarket) - Intake Assembly (came with intercooler setup) - 42# Fuel Injectors Brand New - $200 (SVT Performance.com The Market) Things I bought Brand New - Vortech Bracket Assembly - $289 (Superchargersonline.com) - Vortech Oil Feed Line - $22 (Superchargersonline.com) - Vortech Oil Drain Line - $23 (Superchargersonline.com) - Vortech 3.33 Pulley - $74 (Superchargersonline.com) - PMAS Blow Through MAF - $249.95 (AtomicPerformance.com) - Ford GT Supercar Fuel Pump - $167.60 (LethalPerfomance.com) - Gate Fuel Line Hose for Fuel Pump - $20 (LightningForcePerformance.com) - NGK Tr-6 V-Power Spark Plugs - $25 (LethalPerformance.com) The Grand Total is $1,592 Not Including shipping or tuner or gauges. Other Options: - 90mm Lightning MAF - $79 (BuyFordRacing) - Vortech Discharge Assembly - $200 (SuperchargersOnline.com) (Dont Need Intercooler) - 255lph Fuel Pump - $104.95 (LethalPerformance.com) - Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump 40AMP - $250 (KenneBell.net) - CX Racing Intercooler w/ Plumbing - $319 (CXRacing.com) Gauges: - Im going with Autometer Phantom Boost/Vacuum, and Wideband Gauge. With the Dash Pod. Heres links to some good site where you can buy stuff from or find some good information: - Superchargers Online Build - Procharger/Vortech Walk Through (mello from AFM.com) - LethalPerformance.com - BuyFordRacing.com - AmericanMuscle.com - SiliconeIntakes.com - AtomicPerformance.com - Craigslist - eBay - SVT Performance.com "The Market" - Modded Mustang Classified - Jegs.com - SummitRacing.com If anyone has any questions, feel free to P.M me. I think that basically covers about everything.

Yea man, only $1592 not including shipping. And yup doing the install myself.
The best part is, building the kit is fully customizable. Get to choose your intercooler, fuel pump, spark plugs, injectors, maf, etc... Just be patient and look

hey man, just speaking from experience, i would go with a br7ef plug. the tr6's are too hot. I had problems with my car burning the tips of the plugs off and i switched to br7ef's and they are great. advanced autoparts ordered them for me. they are less than$2 a piece. I keep an extra set handy just in case. Mine are gapped at .024 but most gap theirs around .027

.27 is kind tight i thought. Arent they supposed to be about .32-.35?? and +1 on not really liking the TR6. favor autolites.

Ite cool dude thanks. Yea Ive heard a bunch of people running them, thats why I snagged them.
My brother let me borrow $250 so I ordered my Blow Through MAF today. So now, Im ordering my Boost/Vacuum Gauge and Dashpod. Then install the Vortech and such, tune done. Then in a few weeks Ill get my Wideband. I figured that could wait alittle bit.

Did you find out how much boost the 3.33" pulley will be giving you with that setup?

When Vortech sells a kit, they sell 3.33 with the aftercooled kit, and 3.6 without an aftercooler. I should be making 8-10psi. Im hoping 10psi

Good luck hitting mid 12's on street tires man. If your suspension is stock, you wont hit shit for traction man. Im definatley getting NT555rs. I would love to hit low 12's.
