2004 Mustang Mach 1There is a 2004 Mach 1 at one of my local ford dealers with only 12k miles on it, garage kept by the owner of the dealership.( so they say ) They just dropped the price from 24k to 22k. Anyone have one of these things? I currently drive a 99 V6 standard, so no matter what it'd be an upgrade. My understanding is that this car is somewhere in between a GT and a Cobra with 260-280 rwhp. I also read they only made about 7 thousand of them. It sounds like a pretty great deal... but I'm wary.. I need some pushing |

Yeah yeah, I just read through the Mach 1 thread that was right next to mine. I think I've got what I need.

There were approximately 9000 Machs produced in 2004 and a few more than 7000 in 2004. 1039 were Comp Orange. I have had mine since January 04 and love it. They have held their value very well especially low mileage ones such as the one you are looking at. Mine has just a bit over 7000 miles. It's a garage queen/track whore. $22,000 sounds like a fair deal for a low mileage garage queen. Any mods on it?

I don't think it has anything done to it at all. I'm going there on Friday to take it for a drive. It is bright orange and has a sweet looking hood scoop, I haven't seen it outside of photos.
I commute to 40 miles into Detroit right now though, so gas is likely to hurt. |

If your worried about gasmileage, you shouldn't be worried about a mustang of any kind. As far as the price, I paid a lot more for mine 2 years ago with mroe miles. I think you will be EXTREMELY happy with it. Go for it, and with only 12k on the speedo, you can probably resale it and recoup any money if fuel mileage does become a problem. Besides, 5th gear in these cars isn't that bad on the interstate. Go for it, you'll be happy you did.

I think they are rated at 300hp. I could be wrong.

i know a guy who has full exhaust and hit 318 on the dyno. i dunno if thats really true... but those things are fast as shit..
sounds like a good deal on that one man... go for it and have fun. i always liked that orange too. you know that those hood scoops are functional too......

With full exhaust it's easy to go over 300hp at the wheels. They respond VERY well to exhaust mods, they like to breath!

Suspension mods are amazing as well. Go 4.30's with axles, control arms and DR's and you'll be amazed!

I am right at 300 rwhp with CAI, PHP intake spacer, longtubes and o/r x. That is untuned and on a Mustang dyno which typically read approximately 10% less. than other dynos.
