what do i need/can do?

I have a O/R midpipe on my 1996 COBRA and of course have a CEL, I was planning on getting some MIL ELIMINATORS from americanmuscle but they only have them for the GT models, so what are my options?.. can I fix it with a handheld tuner? do they make the MIL's for the COBRA?.. I need to pass emissions by April. Thanks..

your option is to put the stock mid pipe back in, even though your check engine light wont be on they will still read your exhaust gasses and tell that you have no catalytic converters, just throw the stock cats on, clear the check engine light, make sure you drive around for a couple days so that your computer can redo all the readiness tests (they will all be incomplete since you just erased your cel) and then go pass your e-check and throw the o/r pipe back on. If you go in for your e-check without having all your readiness tests completed they wont test your car.

I allready did, they said they probably will NOT work, and they dont make them for Cobras as far as he knew. So Im SOL, I didnt put the exhaust on so I dont have the stock parts, I guess if I cant find someone to borrow me one I will just sell..save..and try to get a Termi or Mach. I dunno...

You could just put in a pair of high flow cats. You should be able to pass then.

Im not that good or have tools to do that, Im just tryin not to spend money on the exhaust at this point, there are a few other things wrong with the car that need to be taking care of, so If I cant simply pass emissions without spending money I rather just sell it and save up untill next year..

how much would those go for though? then how much u think to have someone put them in like $50?
