Mach 1, Hands down! To the above question about the Drive train in the back of them; Mach 1's Have Solid Rear Axils 8.8'' with 3:55 gears.

i was dead set on getting a white mach 1 (clone weems old car) till i rode in my 09. after that, i just had to have the 09. its got straight pipes (i think the cats are even hollowed out) so its loud as hell

The Mach was cool, but the S197 is a better car in just about every way. Better chassis, better interior, better suspension, handles better.

The 3V responds to mods a lot better than the 4V as well. Intake, tune and exhaust on a 3V is right around 300rwhp.

The Mach was a great car, and I loved the looks of it, but I think the S197 is better all around.

Go drive both and get which one you like the most.

Huh? I had intake, exhaust and a tune on my mach and put down 310 rwhp.

Mach 1 FTW!! most chassis parts from '79-04 will fit it...that equates to is bein a hell of alot cheaper to mad chassis wise...and like what was stated above, the s197's are too refined..the mach still has roots back in the fox days making it lighter and a hell of alot less refined IMO!
