Would I beat my friend's car?

Hi guys, I just started getting into cars because a lot of my friends are into them. I have one friend in particular who i REALLY want to beat in a race because everybody idolizes his car. I was wondering in your honest opinion if I could beat him in a drag race...

My car:

2004 Mustang Cobra-six speed
4.10 gears
k&n CAI
mac headers
cherrybomb catback

His car:

2000 Trans Am WS6-automatic
mti clear air lid
k&n filter
Fast 92mm throttlebody
ported Fast 92mm intake
Trex cam 244/250 - .609/.613 - 110 LSA
trick flow 215 heads
hooker lt headers
ory w/ elec. cutout
slp dual dual catback
3.73 gears
4000 stall
dynotune

Those are all what he said he has done to it. In your honest opinion, who would win?

since you just got your car and it isnt pullied id put my money on him. you have 410s and arent used to it so your going to miss gears hes stalled so he'll be consistent as hell. if you get a 2.80 or 2.76 pulley then you should be in the 460rwhp range with a tune and should be door to door with him if not ahead. pullied cobras and h/c ls1s are usually a door to door race. never drove a t56 with 410s though.

Car to car it looks like a driver's race to me.

If you can drive you've got a chance, but you better be able to launch that thing perfect and not miss a shift.

welcome to the forum.. but how long have you had the car? it depends on the drivers skills. but go race him and let us knw wht happens. if yoi love kb tht cobra then re-race. good luck man

If he hooks he'll own you. Ported TFS 215s with a cam and intake? Most HCI LS1's can pump 500hp out of the box. Not to mention he's geared and stalled. Your gonna need more heat to bring him down.

Ok, I just talked to him. On the dyno he put down 498.3rwhp. Will that make a big difference?

swap out that pully and get a tune you should have a better chance. other than that, practice and get that driver mod down.

just make sure to take some lube that way its not that bad!! i use to have an LS1 with a similar set up but in a 6sp. trust me its gonna pull hard. ur gonna need a pulley and tuner to keep up with him. or f**k it, better yet justs take a bottle. that fixes anything!!
