I can really respect Guy #2 for worshipping and caring for the mustang the way he does - but i believe a car is meant to be driven - no if's, ands or butts about it . . . (period) - enjoy it . . .

It's actuall 300 to the crank, but hey, who's counting...

I have raced quite a few of the 05+ cars and without a ton of bolt ons or suspension work they are too much heavier to mess with my Mach...Most of the newer GT's even with cat back exhaust and mid pipes are still high 13s. Maybe they just need better tires, or better drivers?

Oh yeah, the shaker hood won't do jack crap for the car (maybe) 5rwhp. The tune will help a lot more with or without it.

>>>>>>>>>I agree with your assessment. I have a buddy with an 05 (5 speed car) with the FRPP racing catalog thrown at it(Handling and performance packs). He's the F&I Manager at a local stealership. It is quick on the street. We have "paced" each other numerous times and it is very close. However, at the track I beat him pretty badly. I won't be able to say that much longer. He has a Vert Fox with a built 5.0. We have been finishing up the fabbing on twins. So he will soon get to put the hurt on my NA Mach. <<<<<<<<<

I was under the impression that the mach 1 had 310 horespower. I know it weighs less but if he had the power pack he should be pushing 325. How would you beat him badly at the track? Is it just that you are a better driver? Cause i would think they would be even.

I'm not trying to take anything away from the new GT's, maybe it was my gears and his driving skills combined. I'm no where near a great driver, but I'm getting better. I got lined up with the same 05-07 GT last night at the track, and according to our time slips his best was a 14.4. That was a bone stock 5-speed. I also saw some newer models with exhaust running low 14's to high 13's...

by the way, my 03 Mach came with 305 from the factory.

It depends on the source. I have seen Machs rated at 305 and 310 hp. That is at the crank.

My buddy's 05 has the power pack with the computer reflash but has not had it on the dyno so I have no idea what he is putting down. The last time on the rollers, I put down 295 rwhp with a Predator canned performance tune.

He was at a disadvantage due to having 18" GT wheels. I was running 15 ET Drags. When we raced at the track, I ran a 12.9 to his 13.6. On the street it was pretty close but I had 17" drag radials on my car at the time.

I've seen ratings of 305 for the '03 and 310 for the '04... Although I don't think that either one of them are very acurate.
