Depends on what year GT, & what year Mach 1, and what engine Mach 1 if you mean an older one.

honestly, i beleive that o/r and catback with a good cai and 4.10's and a nice tune, it would be such a drivers race but id give it to the gt with those minor mods. maybe some tires too

I have 2 buddys. One with a 04 Mach and another with a 03 Gt. 04 Mach is stock. 03 Gt has exhaust, DR's, 4.10's, and a predator tune. The Mach ran a 13.6 and the Gt's best was a 13.8. He was close, but the mach won everytime.

All depends on driver. I've heads up, at the track, beaten 03/04 cobras, Mach 1's, and an 07 Shelby GT just by pullin the hole shot and having the other driver overdrive the car and go up in smoke. Most times they put a whoopin on me, but, there;s always driver error to give ya the win

Yikes, they must have really messed up. Because youre fairly stock ( 14.0's )i would think even if burning up first a 03/04 cobra and 07 shelby would still beable to bog second and come back to beat you. But alot of people dont know what they are doing the day after they buy their mustang and think they can go rip it up at the track.

i know my cuz had moderate bolt-ons on his 04 gt with a throttle body, cai, exhaust, rear end, complete exhaust, no headers, and pullies and a retune and he put down something like 305whp and like 360 ft/lbs of torque . . .. those numbers are pretty close to mach numbers . . .
IT REALLY DOES DEPEND ON THE DRIVER THOUGH - PUT A GOOD ASS DRIVER IN A GT AND A MODERATE DRIVER IN THE MACH AND THE GT WILL TAKE HIM ABOUT 75% OF THE TIME... |

correction - he did have a cam and headers (he only had the headers on for a week (i didnt know about them)... and he also told me on the dyno that run he was running way too lean . . .
he eventually took the cam out b/c the idle was too erratic and i think he's taken the car back to pretty much stock |

03 04 Mach 1 > 03 04 GT
03 04 Mach 1 > 05 06 07 GT (real close) Still think my mach was faster than my new car. Not by much , but is weighs less and felt stronger

So he will soon get to put the hurt on my NA Mach. I will say that the 05-07 seem to respond better with a dyno-tune than the Machs do. There is a lot of potental with the 3Vs.

Mach's still faster... Just cause.
The 01's had some problems with producing the claimed 320hp. Not all of them but some. |

01 Cobra and Mach are pretty close. That Cobra has the IRS which hurts it on the launch. The Mach benefits from newer head design from the Terminators. I have a buddy with an 01 Cobra. He as done a solid axle swap with built rear. I am still faster.
![]() In all seriousness, the 01 Cobra and Mach 1 is a close driver's race.

i would REALLY like to see a mach and 96-01 cobra line up . . . i do think the mach would win - but it would def. be a close race....
the thing is - its very hard to find those cars in their stock form - usually rear ends, and small bolt ons are always in use . . . |

I'd say if you found one now in stock form, then the owner has no intentions of ever racing it. Most people who get a Cobra or Mach can be classified into one of two groups. 1 is the guy who mods his car, wether lightly or extenseviley, and has fun driving it. 2 is the guy who buys it, puts it into a garage and leaves it bone stock, and takes it out 10-15 times a year for a local cruise in or show, and usually has no interest in modding...
