tHE STOCK cobalt ss is slow......high 14 sec....but Chevy has 3 upgrade packages just like dodge has for the neon....I have driven several stock SS at my work and they are "not impressive"...I am not saying that I dogged the customers car but I had to verify the customers complaint so I got a chance to see what the car had, or more like it didn't have... So if you see one, rip it a new ass .......later

high 14 second time is not slow IMO, especially for a 2.0 liter 4 banger.

I like the Cobalt SS. Wouldn't mind having one myself, but you should definately be able to take it. My buddy's Civic smoked one in Salem, OR last weekend. The only mods he has to his Civic are AEM intake, GReddy exhaust, Enkei 19" rims, a Civic lip kit, and thats it. You should be able to take him easily.

all cobalt SS are supercharged....if this car impressess you then i feel very sorry for you..because with all the mods you can do with a stang and still be impressed then there is something wrong with you.in my opinion..some wont like this but a stan has to at least have a v8...this is one reason why i think some are impressed by the cobalt ss....it's because they drive 6 bangers...i probably would be impressed too...but i am not...once you drive a rear wheel car and switch to a front wheel car its like ford to chevy....later...

That's what I thought. Cause I have seen Cobalt SS's with a small wing and then I have see Cobalt SS's with the hideous wing and a supercharged emblem on them. Thanks for answering my question before I asked Chris.

So a s/c cobalt can run a low 14 just like a factory 99-04 GT and a factory 5.0 and a 96-98 GT run 15's....youre saying thats bad?????? Why would you feel bad for someone who thinks low 14's from a 4cyl???

once again i stuck my foot in my mouth...chris was correct in the ss/sc info....just because i work the "none oval" doesn't mean I luv there female line of cars...i know i am going to get crap for saying that but its my opinion...!...I dont' hate everything that doesn't have a pony emblem on it but the car should at least like it was made for a guy....most of my american car luving friends would not be caught dead in an example "eclipse" it just looks like a chick car and thats all i see driving them here in the deep south...and the driver has to be 5-4" and 125 to fit into that shit....well as for my and my boys most of us being 5-11 215lbs + and myself 6-0 245(and no i'am no butter ball) i need more room and the stang has always offered the room and that strong yet sexy look.....at me size i have tried the 07' Z06 fu**ing awsome car but it is one hell of a tight fit.(for $70k hell nooooooooo) ...it's like a speedo on jack black...and with all that you can do with the stock stang yessss high 14 is very slow imo...with just a few bolt ons get your stang into the high 13's at least....
soory once agian but i just luv my stangs especially the babes that can handle the bad ass toys sha-wing....down here thats all you see cause we have great weather all year round......later
