wanting to build a 351 and need some help with advice and ideas

i found a 78 351w and need to know if its a good block to work with or not? i plan on it being a carbureted motor also have been looking into sbf pro comp alluminum heads, running a stock crank and stock sized pistons and want to spray. any ideas on cam sizes or what type pistons to run or valve train and rockers would be much appreciated!

You want a 351c motor. The valves on a 351w are inline versus the canted valves on a 351c. Better flow basically.

I have a 351 roller block in storage just in case I get another fox body. I plan on doing a forged 408 stroker setup with an agressive cam, Victor heads and a Victor intake. This should net somewhere in the 500-600 hp range without spray.

If i get another fox body that is...........

Or maybe an older classic like a 1st generation fastback or a 69/70fastback.

from what i have been told the 69 blocks are the toughest but you should be fine with the 78. We run a late 70s 351 block in our modified street fox body. it has an all forged 414ci bottom end with a main girdle with AFR 225 heads solid roller cam and 225hp shot of nitrous and we havnt had any problems with the block. how much are you gana be spending on the procomp heads?
