Losing Power In The Rain?

So i have some weired stuff going on with my my electrical system when i hit puddles of water. The amp meter on my cluster has kinda been jumping around alittle bit since i put the new alernator in but it hasnt been a big deal because it never goes that low but today in the rain i hit a few puddles on the way to work and my car lost alot of electrical power. As soon as I hit the water my lightes got dim, and my gauge showed a very low amps. It came right back up after a few seconds though. After I got to work I popped the hood to look for oviouse things like loose connecton and didnt find anything and i drove the car home just fine.

I just replaced my alternator about 2 months ago with a rebuilt one so im not sure what the deal is. I dont think its water splashing up onto it because my alternator sits on top of the motor.

Any help would be great

Have you taken it to an auto parts store to have them test the battery and alternator?

yes the battery is good, and their machine cant tell for the alternator because it doesnt put a "load" on it...
Plus the alternator is new but i relize you can buy bad parts out of the box as well.

There must be liquid hitting a wire or the alternator itself. Other than the alternator being bad thats about all I can think of. Haven't heard of this issue too much.

I agree with TYZRIDE. Have you checked for any loose wires?

had this happen to me about 2 months ago. It ended up being a bad alternator and a bad battery
