Need Some Advice on Selling 03 GT and buying 96-98 SVT Cobra

As the title suggests, I'm looking to sell my 03 GT and pick up a 96-98 SVT Cobra (Vert or Coupe). For some reason I really like that body style.

I'd like to know what I can reasonably expect to sell my GT for and what I should prepare to pay for that year Cobra. Absolutely any advice or information is appreciated.

A little background:

My 03 Mustang GT

73,685 Miles on the Odometer
5 Speed
Stock Except Billet Grill, Mach 1 Chin Spoiler, Projector Headlights and Tails. Black insert lettering

I took it to Carmax to see what they would give me for it if I chose to sell to them. Below are their comments
Interior:
  • Front seats are in good condition
  • Rear seats are in good condition
  • Carpets are in good condition
Exterior:
  • Front tires are in good condition
  • Rear tires are in good condition
  • All rims are in good condition
Mechanical:
  • Transmission is in good condition
  • Engine is in good condition
Structural:
  • Frame does not have damage
Additional Comments:
  • Vehicle is well maintained
Their offer was $6,500
Kelly Blue Book Private Party Value for 2003 Mustang GT 2D Coupe - $9,070 in Good Condition

Without a buyer, Value means nothing. What can/should I reasonably expect on price? How long would my car typically take to sell?

Thanks for the advice!!
Matt

Body style had a lot to do with it, personally my favorite looking cobra. Holds a personal meaning for me as well. First mustang I bought was an 03 GT, and loved the car, the sound is what hooked me. But I hated the fact that EVERYBODY had one. Now that's never an issue.

Main reason is I enjoy projects, learning more about where these cars came from, and trying to do the work myself. Buying a termi is great, but everything that I plan to do to mine comes stock on the newer models, and once again everybody around here seems to have one.

But even though the cobra is older than my GT, you can tell a big difference between the 2V and 4V engines.

I am a big fan of the 96 to 98 cobra too, a couple of my friends have new edge mustangs, but they never really impressed me much.
