Mach 1. I've driven my buddy's Mach 1 and it was a trip. I haven't driven a NA '01 Cobra, so I can't compare the two honestly.

I say the mach 1 for a few reasons.
1. Newer 2. The shaker hood 3. More power 4. Those kick ass gauges. I have never been a fan of an IRS, the wheel hop just pisses me off.

if you plan on ever changing your gears you'll be praising God you didn't get an IRS. It honestly comes down to what you like. Everybody craps on the pre-termi cobras, but any cobra is plenty fast enough for 19 =).
With that said, I'd get the Mach1. It's newer, probably less hard-earned miles, the shaker is sexy, and a SRA allows you to upgrade your gears yourself.

320hp > 305hp A '99 Cobra is a lot of fun, especially a convertible.

Because they came in an automatic version, which was down a little on power compared to the 5-speeds, Ford used the lower number as the overall rating. My bone stock 5-speed Mach 1 put down over 290rwhp and 325rwtq on an SAE corrected Dyno Jet. Along with the better gearing of the TR3650 tranny, and 3.55 rear gears, I could walk lightly modded 99/01 Cobras all day long, and did on numerous occassions. |

Can i vote for a gt and with the few grand you save turbo or supercharge it and blow past all mach1's and cobras? if not i choose mach1 just cause i love the mach styling

SRA>IRS, its a newer car, better interior, better heads and intake manifold. More rare of a car. Etc Etc. Oh yea and it has shaker, buy one just for that.

I would get the mach 1 and not because I have one.
It looks better than the 99 cobra IMO. Its faster. Stock mach 1 can run 13.20s with stock tires. The transmission holds decent power and its a future classic. You will have a lot of fun driving one.
