A while ago I was on EBAY looking for some cheap mods. I came across many chips promising 35 HP or more. To say the least I was completely skeptical. I bought one completely out of curiosity, (25 bucks), just to see what they were really made of. When the chip arrived and after I openned the package I knew even more that this chip was BS. Two wires protruding from 1''x 2''x 1/4'' plastic shell with a red extremely hard epoxy filling in the mysterious internals from the bottom. The directions tell you to connect the to wires up to the two wires leading into you MAF sensor. So all this thing could possibly do is change your air fuel mixture. I kinda had a drift of this when I decided to buy and test, but mainly I just had to know what was inside. Upon testing the magical chip I noticed an actual small increase in power (on flat land lol). I was surprised and thought maybe It was not full of $$$$. I left the chip on a little longer and then hit a large long hill. I lost a ton of power in 3rd gear. I normally pull this hill like cake in 3rd and it was a must shift to second sitution. Needless to say I removed the chip, which by the time I got home tripped my check engine light lol. So it was time to break it lol. I was able to get the plastic black shell off that was around the red hard epoxy i guess you could call it. Now the fun part getting through the red stuff. These people do not want you to know what are in these things!! I used hammers and everthing under the sun to finaly break in to this thing. Once in side I find a 10 cent resistor with the two wires connected to each end. What the resiter did......for those of you who do not know what that is..........it lowered the voltage sent back to the computer changing the air fuel ratio and causing the motor to run rich or thats how it seemed. (smelled flooding). So if you are looking for cheap power and come across these chips take a reality check. POWER IS NOT CHEAP! lol This may sound stupid to some of you but I'm writing this to save other people the lost money who really think it will work. Hope I saved someone some dough.

I have known about these stupid things forever. but there are stupid kids out there that actually buy these thigns and it will HURT performance and youre car. Its only a resistor changing the way youre computer sees things and its not actually whats happeneing. If you install it for long peroids it will ruin youre car. And it will not increase performance.

junk, i had one in my mustang and i thought it actually slowed it down. I got it for free so i tried it.

All these "CHIPS" are is a reisistor and IMHO it will make your car slower...

If its to good to be true then it prolly is...
