Hi guys. I just picked up a red '04 cobra with 15K miles on it. It's a SUPER nice car, and I got a really good deal on it. Lol. Anyways... I have this friend who also has a fast car, and eventhough i know he's been into racing longer than me, i was wondering if you guys think i could beat him in a race just taking out cars into consideration. I know he has a lot of mods, but I was told out cars are under rated. So anyways, on to the cars... Oh, and I got his specs from the car forum he's a member of.

an auto cobra would have to have had a tranny swap. odds are his car isnt a cobra cause who would have a stock cobra with just an auto swapped in.

Upload some pics of your car, I like seeing termi's. Not being a jerk either, you sure you didn't buy an auto GT? Don't think I've ever seen an auto termi. I know the 96-98 Cobra's all came with manual transmissions from the factory.

Not saying it's not possible, just rare.

You're correct. The 03-04 Cobra's only came with one transmission option, the Tremec T-56 six-speed manual. That's it. It's possible that it was converted by the previous owner it to an automatic and you do hear about celebrities who convert Ferraris and the sort because they can't drive a stick. But if it wasn't converted after it left the factory, you're not driving a Cobra.

no, i'm almost positive it's a cobra. I believe the original owner had the transmission swapped out because he didn't want a 6 speed for a dd. also he said he planned on making it a strip car, hence why he drove it so little. he just never got the time or extra money to do it.
