Nah, you're not alone. Not saying the Cobra isn't a nice car, but it's still a Mustang.

I LOVE the 05-09 body, thats why I bought it... But if I had to do it all over again, I would have got the termi. Since you said you want to keep the car for a long time the termi will provide a very solid building block.
You may what to compare insurance quotes to help you decide… Just a thought, don’t know if this matters to you or not. Also, you said it will be a DD so you may what to think about gas.
Let us know what you decide.

Nope. I'd rather have my Mach. Just because of Bang for Buck.
Yeah the Termi is quite a bit more bang but a shitload more buck.

What's the budget here? That can influence a lot. if sky is the limit go Shelby or better yet C-500.

Also think about mileage. What are you looking for here? The higher the miles the more of those "headaches" and/or PM bills come around.

I'm an engineer so I have to look at this logically. I used a decision matrix when I bought mine. List the pros/cons rate each car you come across with the chart and calculate what comes out on top. Remember you can always fudge the numbers to get what you feel strong about if you want.

Best of luck with finding your new baby! I vote Mach 1 FTW!

Hhmm, I didn't know the 3v's performed pretty much as well as the 4v's.. I am really leaning towards the Mach still. Question for you Mach guys out there: How is everything else with the car, in terms of build quality and such? And if anyone has had the pleasure of experiencing both the Mach and the S197 GT's first-hand, which would you prefer and why?

I am soon turning 26, so I don't think the insurance thing matters anymore, and I have a good record, just a couple of speeding tickets My budget isn't all that big, so I guess the Cobra might be fading in the distance now.. I did look up gas mileage on all cars considered on kbb.com and they didn't differ much. 1mpg isn't much of a difference to me, unless those numbers are misleading..

I will be honest with you guys, the GTO (2005-2006 w/the LS2) is starting to take the place of the Cobra because performance is similar, based on listed specs, but is a hell of a lot cheaper. I know I am taking a shot in the dark with the question I am about to ask, but can any of you guys give honest (unbiased) input for the GTO? I am a guy with a broad love for all types of performance cars and if it was up to me with infinite money, I would take one or two of each, haha.. Hey, I can dream right?

I was referring to the insurance cost associated with the cobra vs a N/A car cuz the cobra comes S/C from the factory. Don’t know if it’s a big deal(never owned one)but I would check it out.

I know what you meant, and I will look into it. I just didn't think it'd be that much of a difference between the two. But you might have a point, with the way insurance companies are nowadays.. Thanks for pointing it out. I just checked KBB and yea, Cobras are just outside of my price range so unless I find a deal on one, I guess it is out of the equation.

I'd go withthe Mach, and I only say that because I'm looking to step up from my current GT. Mach's are a beast from the factory not cobra territory but i'd say they are the best bang for your buck.

The 05-06 GTO is nice if you can find it for the right price and in good condition 400/400 from the factory aint to shabby.
