Question

4.6 3v swap into a 2001 GT

First of all i would like to say hello to everyone, I'm new here but not new to mustangs. To cut to the chase i'm looking to swap a 4.6 3v into my 2v stang. I've been able to find lots of useful info but there are some questions I still have. Just to give everybody an idea of what I'm trying to do here is my situation:
A: My timing chain guides got shredded and caused my timing chain to skip a sprocket or two and sent a valve into my piston and locked my motor at 70k no less. Tried turning by hand and was afraid I might snap the crank bolt. So basically I have a boat anchor on my hands.
B: I'm planning on swapping a 3V motor, figured I'd get the 3V since my motor is probably in need of a teardown and 3V's are pretty cheap.
C:I'm planning on using the Logan Motorsports conversion kit, Modular Head Shop Stage 2 cams, FRPP Intake, BBK Twin 65mm TB, Pacesetter LT and X-pipe (I know not the best but keeps me in my budget), and some type of CAI (not sure what one will work yet), tuner, Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter, 3.73 gears and a Cobra R hood. My car already has a SLP loudmouth exhaust, Eibach springs, f/r sway bars, CAI and Steeda clutch quadrant with the adjuster.

The main question that I have is will a 07+ Explorer 4.6 3V work in my car, are the motor mounts different like the aluminum 4.6 or are they the same as the older 2V cast iron. Will the adapter plates that MMR & SHM make to put the older blocks in the S197 work to put a newer block in a SN-95 chassis?

Are the 3V heads the same on the Explorer as the Mustang?

Are the fuel lines the same, I believe they would be as they are both modulars but I'm just guessing?

Are the timing cover's similar or can a Mustang one be used?

Is there anything I might be missing or something different I should do that anyone knows of.

Thanks for any help you guys might have

P.S. Please no comments saying I should go with a 4V..... Just not what I'm looking to do right now... unless you know of a good one for under $2000

I would suggest pm'ing "mustang_gtr_99". He dropped a 3v in his 99 a while back. If he's still floating around he'll know everything you need to know.

You can get a 4v out of a Mach or 99/01 Cobra for that money, and it will be a lot easier to install than the 3v. I put in an '03 cobra engine and it was pretty easy. That costs more than what you're looking at but it's also, forged, best 4v heads, blower, and all the blower accessories. You can definitely do a 4v swap for cheap.
