Long tube headers or shortys

Hello all
I have a 07 GT automatic and I am going to install a new set of headers! I don't know if I should go long tube or shortys?
The quistions I have, is it ok to remove the cats?
Is the car going to be too loud with long tube?
Who makes the best long tube headers
Or should I stay with the shortys?
I have the classic shacker and a roush axle back pipes.
And I'm haveing a set of 410s installed.

shorties will be easier to install, and if your car ever has to pass Cali emissions, you're screwed with long-tubes. Of course, you're talking about taking out the cats, so that's probably not an issue.

(I suggest long-tubes as well, but nobody was giving any reason to not go with them, thought I'd play Devil's Advocate)

Long tubes are the only ones that will make a noticable difference while still n/a, shorties will help with FI, but again LT's will show them up with FI also

long tubes will give you a 8-12 hp advantage over shorties, specially on your 3v engine. You will need to re-tune to get the most ouf of them since you'll be a little leaner then.

like any catback will bolt up to a stock h pipe or any midpipe for that matter. If you swap out your stock h pipe to an (same length) aftermarket x or h you will not be able to upgrade to LTs with out modifying your stock or aftermarket midpipe. The stock exhaust manifolds are same the length as shorty headers. So if you upgrade to long tubes you will need to either get a shorty mid pipe or modify your stock length ones. but if you cant decide between shortys or long tubes just get a cat back for now

I think that I might go with the shorty's and C&L intake and the 4.10s to try to keep my cost down. I would like to get long tube headers but it sounds like its going to cost me about double the cost! I still will have to buy a tuner also.

If you can't afford them right now .. I'd just wait and not do them .. shorties are gonna be pointless in the scheme of things .. you might as well wait .. save .. and do long tubes ...

what did you notice with the X-pipe?
Sound or power?
I don't know if I should go with the X-pipe or not.
Is the X-pipe worth the money
