knocking/ticking noise?

i was in the gas kinda hard not to the floor tho and i missed third, and my car back fired when i stopped at the next light i heard a tick. under the hood its faint from down low around the wheel its louder and noise increases with rpms any ideas??

i would recommend that you not drive it hard if not at all, and check your spark plugs. you COULD have some spark plugs loose. if you dont tighten them down your gona blow one through the head and its gona cost you.

does it sound somewhat like an exhaust leak?

I would get it checked asap just to be sure that it's nothing major. If it like mine it's just going to be annoying till u plan to rebuild.

grab a broom stick or a long screwdriver and put one end on the valve covers and the other on your ear to listen if its coming from there. If no, then try your timing cover in the front.
