2001 Mustang Gt High/Hanging Idle
I just bought a 2001 Mustang gt and have noticed that the idle like to stick a little bit on it. It kinda hangs at about 2000, then 1500 then sticks at about 1200. Is this a common problem? Any idea what it could be?

pull off the iac valve (idle air control) and clean it real good with some carb and choke cleaner. get a q tip and clean all the down and around the pluger(shaft,bar,rod). reinstall and start. its a very common part/problems on all fords with a 4.6L
its located on the front of the intake plenum and has 1 plug and 1 hose that goes back to the intake |

Depending on how long it sticks, possible throttle cable problem. Prolonged sticking, bad98gt most likely is correct.
