looking to get a s281 please help

im looking to get a 97 s281: heres the add does it seam like a good deal? he only wants 9000$ ......Selling my 97 Mustang Saleen S281, it's #120 for the year 1997. Vehicle is in good condition for a 97', if anything just needs a little TLC from sitting in my driveway. The only has just over 70k miles. Engine has a lot of upgrades (all done by owner before me) and is supercharged, pushes about 400 HP to the rear wheels and 430 TQ. I had JBA titanium ceramic headers and exhaust done by JBA in San Diego (Stationed there in Military) and was dyno tuned. Put 4 new tires on probably about a year and a half ago, but maybe only put a few thousand miles on it since then.I'M BUYING A HOUSE AND CAR NEEDS TO GO!!!**

Call Saleen directly @ 1-800-888-8945 with the Bumper Number and the last 6 digits of the VIN and they can authenticate it for you.

It probably needs new motor mounts. The supercharger is aftermarket. Saleen did not offer a supercharged S281 in 97. They did offer a supercharged S351 though.

Name thief.

Yes, the maintenance costs are higher. You should realize that as awesome as the Racecraft suspension is, it is 13-14 years old and more than likely needs to be replaced.

The actual setup should be the same as a gt, just with lowereing springs and better shocks and struts and a better front sway bar with poly bushings. It should have a set of 3.55 gears in the rear and a saleen body kit with saleen wheels. It should have a set of Saleen plug wires under the hood. Other than the striping and badging that was the only difference between a stock GT and a Saleen S281 back then. Anything else different on the car is aftermarket and has been changed by the owner or prevoius owners.

If you can post up some pics of the car and the suspension we can help you figure out what additional mods have been done to it.

I'm working on a forged shortblock with ported svo heads, custom cams and an svo blower right now. It's not together yet.

the longtubes will make a decent difference. superchargers arent that overwhelming to maintain. i believe as long as you dont overspin them they will last over 100k miles. they do have seals in them that will need to be replaced at some point. i think the seals are less than $1g to replace.
