Need some advise.

Well i'm looking to buy me a mustang.
I want to take it to the drag strip and have it as a dailey driver.
Trying not to spend no more then 14k on buying it.
Options 2003/2004 Mach 1
What would be the best years for GT and Cobra?
Best horsepower ftlb and such.
Planning to maybe a tune, and a supercharger or something that'll increase its horsepower and speed. Thanks if you guys help at all.

My answer is biased, but for the price I think a Mach 1 will be your fastest car to get.

I did some research and i found 99-04 Gt would be better and faster than the 94-98, and the best Cobra would be the 99,01,03,04 ones?
Should i look for these cars in these years?
99-04 GT
99-01 Cobra
03-04 Mach 1
Wouldn't look for a Terminator because most are beat up and around 20k$
Can someone link me to information about Saleens and Roush Mustangs?
Edit: Nevermind found links, Now can someone put the best years for Saleens and Roush Mustangs.

I would get the Mach 1, Because the GT would be a money pit due to the fact it can only hold 400hp with stock internals.

I vote Mach 1 as well. Pretty much the same engine as the cobra but a lot cheaper. Then you could just throw a supercharger on.

for 14k you can easily find an 05 S197.
No doubt in my mind I would go for an 05, imho.

Did a quick search on Auto trader, 50 miles from my house.
There are literally dozens of 05's for under 14 k.

Why buy old technology when you can have something new, or, newer, and much better.

I say 03-04 mach or the 99-01 cobra. Both 4v's and respond well to bold on's quite well. You'll be happy with either. I have a 2000 gt and I love it but have to admit it is a money pit. I would take an 4v over it all day long just wasn't in my budget at the time. And plua they are just sexy cars as well. And about the 05+ gt comment...yes they are better the 2v gts but IMO I have to say 4v>3v. No disrespect in any way

Same motors yes but the 99-01 cobra's are actually around the same price. In most times cheaper. I could be wrong tho, been a little sense I've looked into it.

or you could go in a completely opposite route, buy an 90-93 GT for 3-5k, and dump the rest of your cash into it and make it faster then a 2v and somewhat close to a 4v. parts are WAY cheaper, yes older technology, however, cheaper parts = more parts you could buy for the money.lol. just a thought.
