i need ideas of what the problem might be

the car : 01 mustang gt

set up: 03 f150 block and heads
long tube headers, catless h-pipe, side exhaust
cold air intake, 70mm throttle body
(thats it for engine stuff)

the car ran at the track last year in february with outside temp at about 70 degrees it ran a 13.98 @ 99mph

the problem: the car slowly is moving losing power some how and some where and i cant figure out why. it doesnt run funny at all which is whats so odd, it doesnt hesitate, stumble, bog down...... its has a loss of low end power to the point that it wont spin the tires from a stand still, and the top end doesnt really seem that much better

the last time i went to the track was this past november and the conditions were almost identical to the february run with temp. at about 75...... this car ran a 15.67 @ 88mph

highly embarrassing even more confusing because im not sure where to start or what i might be missing.

any help would be greatly appreciated

says in your sig "computer tune" if you did that between your two track visits maybe a bad tune could be the problem. you could call the guys at Next Level Performance and im sure they could assist you for a good price, or to just give you some help/ideas. good luck

im in wintergarden (west orlando)

i checked to see if any codes where thrown and what i found was that

b1220 (Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Circuit Open)

i understand that the fuel system isnt there then the car will run like shit but..... what exactly does this code mean is happening to the car?
if any one knows

you dont have a fuel pressure regulator, fuel pressure is done by pulse width modulation of the fuel pump by the driver. More pressure, more voltage, less pressure, less voltage.

Id start with the simple stuff, clean/replace the air filter. New fuel filter, new plugs. Basic maintance is grossly over looked by most on this board.

It's okay to feel like a jackass if it is because that's a cheap fix

its taken me a while but i put a fuel pressure gauge to the car and at an idle it only makes
25psi (its supposed to be between 40-70)

so this information coupled with the code that i read from the ecu, does any body think with out a reasonable doubt that it has something to do with the FRPS?

i just read my own powt and realized ive been talking about the wrong sensor...

the code i threw was in regards to the FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR and not the frps

so time to ask again, does any one know the symptoms of a fail FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR?
how hard is it to replace?
is this somehow the reason for my cars questionable performance?
