Question

01 Bullitt vs. 05 GT

Okay I'm thinking about trading my 01 bullitt mustang for a 05 GT. Heres what my car has done. Have original window sticker and brochure! Car has original Ford plastic still in carpet...never removed from factory! It only has 70,000 miles! Car was signed under hood by Jack Roush at a car show in Florida! Has tons of upgrades! Has 4.6L with a Procharger and 3 core intercooler....made 361 RWHP & 378 lbs torque on 7.5 PSI! Tuned by BROOKSSPEED! Car has Ford Gt Supercar fuel pump...Ford Racing 39lb injectors...Hpx Maf sensor...Anderson Power Pipe...160 thermostat...Steeda Tri-ax short throw shifter...Spec stage 2+ clutch...Slp X-pipe with Slp Loud Mouth exhaust! Tinted windows! Mach 460 stereo system... has 17" Black Cobra R's with polish lip Rims! Rear wheels are 10.5 inches and tires are 315/35/17! Bullitt came from factory with 13" Cobra brake Rotors...Sub frame connectors...under drive pulleys...lowered 3/4 inch from stock...and Tokico shocks!

2005 mustang gt with FRPP Cams, xpypes, flowmaster 44 series exhaust, FRPP spec stage 2 clutch and flywheel,4 10 gears.Push start engine button, billet grill, JBL cold air intake,Ford Racing tach, blacked out headlights, fog lights, tail lights and the trunk lid has the black out on it.17 in cobra r rims, cowl induction hood, rear side window louvers, tan leather interior,Shaker 1000. 321 rwhp and 394 rwhp when sprayed.. Should I trade or not??

It'd be a downgrade in power on motor, but that's about it. The FRPP Thumper cams sound amazing and the interior of the S197s blow the SN95s out of the water. I'd trade in a heartbeat if I were you.

ya, I'd trade.
The S197 is better all around platform.

Newsflash... It is an SN95. All Mustangs from 96-04 are SN95s and there is a subgroup of that from 99-04 called New Edge.

As for the cams, the Thumper cams aren't that aggressive just like the FR500 cams in 4Vs. The 05 is only making 320rwhp which isn't that far off from a S197 GT with just bolt-ons.

It won't mess with it as much as a supercharger. Again it's only 20hp difference between what you're looking at and a full bolt-on GT. As far as I know there weren't any big problems but I'm not a good person to ask for that. Try the 05-09 forum it gets more traffic.

The Bullitt is a limited production car, 05 GT's grow on trees.

Keep what you have.

My supercharger don't hurt my cars gas mileage a bit..... This 05 is a slick car though.... But yeah I don't gotta think that I got one of 1818 cars like mine...I'm leaning toward the 05

yeah thats what I'm thinking.. The bigger cams don't make it more prone to tear up does it?

Assuming they were installed correctly the only thing that should make it more prone to wear and tear is your right foot.

If it was me, I'd make the swap. You're getting an all around much better platform. The supercharger is really the only thing that would make me hesitate, but they make superchargers for 3V's also. You do have a somewhat rare car, but really, how does that benefit you right now? Now maybe if you plan on keeping the car for 40 years and selling it when it's a 'classic' than maybe, but in 2011 you're car really isn't going to demand a lot of money. Especially with that many miles and mods

Let me ask you this, and I'm being for real here, not trying to disrespect your Bullitt, but how does your car being a limited production vehicle benefit you? I understand having a cool vehicle that is rare, but honestly 95% of the people you see on a daily basis wouln't even know what you have. So other than the fact that it says Bullitt on the back and the 5% of the people that understand and appreciate that, it's really not much different than the other New Edges on the road.

Now the extra 40 horsepower I understand, but you can make that up with a few more mods to the 05.
