I agree, but these guys are the exception. Just across town at the Goodyear dealer it would have cost me $100 to get them mounted, but I dont trust those guys at all.

I never like to leave my vehicle unattended. If i had to leave my turbo Exporer anywhere I would set the rev limiter to 2k.

I used to change tires 20 ys ago and if they cant get them off your wheel, they have problems. The worst I have ever had to do was cut a tire at the beed if it was that stuck. That was because they drove on the tire when they had a blow out and the wheel got hot. You dont have beed locks on the wheels do ya?

no beed locks, everyone said the tires were just to wide for their presses. I call it lazy

I work in a shop that only does suspension/brakes and general maintenance. I'm one of the ones doing general maintenance. I understand how much of a bitch getting low profile tires off can be, even if they're not that low profile. On our machines, we have to break the bead, then we bring an arm up to the wheel that has a special fitting on the end of it. Then we use a steel arm to pull the tire up over the fitting, then we push the pedal and the machines spins the tire off. Yesterday i put 2 new tires on a mitsubishi dimante. I was literally hanging off the steal arm trying to get the tire up over the special fitting to take it off. That's how hard some of those low profile tires can be (I'm 6' 225 lbs)

So yes i understand how hard it can be, but those prices are ridiculously exspensive.

Am I the only one who dismounts and mounts all of his own tires? It only takes a couple minutes each and I've never had a problem. Nothing breaks a bead better than a 4X4 chunk of wood and a 7,000 lb truck.

A small shop near me has a road force balancer and charges $2.50 per wheel for the balancing after that.

Ive done it with a bottle jack and a tractor. I wouldn't want to try it on these low profile tires cause you could F up your wheel.

Low profiles are definitely more difficult but I've never had a real problem. As long as your dismounting tools aren't metal on the outside and you only touch the tire to break the bead you shouldn't damage anything.
