Nobody Can Change out My Tires!

just venting after driving around all day looking for somebody to install my Nitto DR 17x315 tires! Everyshop i go to, they cant get the old Summitos off. I guess i will make a trip out to a speed shop tomorrow.

they say because there tire machines cant push the beed down far enough to get it off the wheel. I watched them try it and it no shit wouldnt. i was just wondering if other people had this kinda problem. THEN one shop tried to charge me $34 a tire because it required 2 people.

try a place that does nothing but tires and wheels i go to firestone for that kind of stuff

I had the same problem with my tires on my cobra r's. The chrome/nickel plate was sealed to the rubber. One of my tires actually ripped in the process of removing them.

It was a big ordeal Ill just say that.

i finally found a self owned tire shop and he did it no problem for $70. I went to 2 other firestones this morning and one wouldnt do it and the other said it would be alittle over $100 so i didnt stick around.

Wow, $70? When I put new 35 series tires on my wifes Jag I think I paid $50 for all four ($12.50 each) and thought that was high.

Come to Brooklyn. Tire shops on every corner. They'll rip your tires off, replace em and mount them in 6 minutes flat for $40 and a $10 tip. In the rain. Uphill both ways...

no i put 555r's on. Its still my dd so the nt05's would last me about 6 months. I already have to keep reminding myself no turn burn them off at each corner

next time im going to shop around before i even buy the tires. I think all these freaking shops saw a way to sqeeze a extra buck outa me.

They need one of those machines with the two arms on it. Had the same problem trying to get my Nitto 335's on.

never had a tire i couldn't get off. discount tire would of charged you $27 per tire for dismount, mount, and balance.

I just had my new tires mounted at the Ford dealership- $10/tire balanced with stick on weights.

Agreed. I find Discount Tire is the only large chain that the employees generally for the majority take pride in their work.

And sadly most techs at the dealer don't give a shit about getting it as perfect as possible.
