and are you more into making a sick dragster or cruising the twisties. that should influence the decision. me, I just wanted a cobra.

Yeah you've got to be careful. I bought my senior year because I decided it was time to retire the Neon as DD and I wanted something fairly quick as a DD. Then I saw this mess with half the Cobra parts on it.

Long story short I'm still DD'ing the Neon and the Mustang is about to get a ported/pullied/cammed termi motor in it. Granted now that I'm graduated I'm making the money to finish it and then some.

Lesson? Resist the urge to mod the crap out of it. At least until after college.

I want it to kind of be both, be able to rip through a track, and be pretty quick at the strip. Maybe on 04 isn't the only car I shoul look for. There's an 01 gun metal grey cobra for sal in Omaha for 13 gran with 40,000 miles on it. Is that the range of which I should be looking at for an 99-01 cobra?

Depends on condition and market. I've seen clean termi verts go for $13-15k in Ohio/Indiana, and the same type go for $17-19 elsewhere. Try to benchmark it with other 99/01's in your area. Hell, clean GT's were going for around $10k back home.

Personally I'd say $13 is a little steep, but it might be in really good shape. Shop around a little.

There's another one that black for 10 grand. I guess it depends on the seller. I personally want a blue, white, shadow grey, or red mustang GT or cobra. There's really not anything around here or in Kansas city right now.

I assume you're using craigslist? The trick is to just wait untill a good one comes up. Ask if you can test drive the '01 then offer him 10. although it's probably worth more it's still reasonable. and honestly, an GT or cobra with light suspension, FL SFC's, and some bolt ons will be decent at the track and still be very streetable, as long as it's got the V8

Well it's bone stock. Both the black and the grey. But that's what I'd offer.
