only on certain bolts. Items such as rod bolts need to be measured w/ a stretch guage and their head bolts to my knowledge are not torque-to-yield so you must use the torque specs they provide.

This is a general question about engines but you sound pretty knowledgable so I thought I'd ask. What is the biggest stroke kit you can put on the 4.6 and 5.0 engines? and what are the stock and stroked displacement of each, that's 289 and 302 right?

I'm not sure on the 4.6 and 5.4 engines but the biggest I've ever seen for a 5.0 engine was 347ci.

Biggest I seen on a chevy small block was a 454, I don't think they can go much bigger than that, but 468 seems pretty attainable. I know chevy blocks but I am trying to get some mustang knowledge, I have though of putting a chevy engine in a ford but although I'm a chevy man that would still be sacriligous either way you look at it,cause I still like mustangs but if you put a chevy engine in it, then it truly isn't a ford mustang. Have many people done that recently? I know that used to be a big thing back in the days, but haven't heard too much about it in recent years, but who cares right, I've been impressed with mustang cobras and some gt's of what they can do...... if only they had a little more cubes, I know the mustang fans have been screaming for that for a while, you know what they say... there's no replacement for displacement!!

biggest small block bow tie
we just got done building 3 500ci LS1's.....with a plastic stock manifold it made over 710HP and 738 ft/lbs tq. but with the N20 it made 962 ft/lbs tq! well they're actually like 497ci's but thats so close to 500 that most people wouldn't care about 3ci anyways...
we're also building a dry-sumped, alumnium 5.4, de-stroked, with a carborater and direct port nitrous for the mod-motor croud out there. its backed up by a powerglide and should make over 600 N/A HP..... i'll try to keep ya'll up to date but we're still waiting on the crankshaft so its on hold as of right now. |

Ooooooooooooooooooo..... The Ls1 riens supreme still.
I really like that motor.... except i dont like the car its in....A LS1 swap to a say.... white SN-95 would be nice. Then if i left it stock we would see stock for stock who would win. Anyways.... great numbers. Except one thing......
