I have a 98 gt and my rpm gauge isn't working properly. It will sometimes read 0 then it will show like 6000 Rpm when my aftermarket tach show like 3000 rpms. Pls help becIse I want to take my tach out and just use a shift light.

How is your aftermarket tach wired in?
My guess would be the wiring for it is messing up your real gauge.

If you have an aftermarket tach, why are you worried about what the stock tach is doing?

The aftermarket tach doesnt read eight I'll hit rev limiter and tach only show 4500 or 5000 rpms. The tach is wired directly to my ecu.

I'm sorry I took your original post to mean your stock rpm gauge wasn't reading right, and you were able to tell by comparing it to what the aftermarket one was showing. As far as the "off" readings...did you double check the wiring? Usually the simplest thing....is it grounded properly, for example?
