I run the NGK plug (TR-6's) and haven't had any problems out of those. I change them after about every 5-6 bottles...Just in cases!

Is it possible to run higher heat stages on a stock motor and not hurt anything?

How often should I change my plugs? I've got a 2000 GT V8 4.6 liter. All stock except for a CAI. Thanks

I worked for Autozone a while back, and almost every single Bosch +2 or +4 that we sold, the customer almost always came back with fouled plugs, check engine light on w the car miss-firing. I don't know if the plugs are poorly made or what. -DaNnY-

For nitrous and FI cars, the step colder makes them less likely to detonate.

it wont hurt, but its all about efficientcy. the hotter you can keep a spark, the more efficient, but have to be carefull about detonation too.

So how do you determine what's most efficient between keeping it hot and keeping down detonation?

knowing what exactly is done on the motor, temperatures, fuel, etc. etc. a lot of data logging, pulling plugs, and even checking injectors.
