E-Brake Isnt Long Enough
About a year ago my emergency break cable broke and i bought a new t-handle part of the cable. The issue is that its not long enough for me to bolt the actual ratchet to the center console. I have tried it every which way and still can get it to work. I got it once but the cable was so tight even dis engaged the back pads were rubbing when i test drove it. Anyhelp or tips at this point would be appriciated. This was the fourth time ive tried to fix it, Im done at this point.

I don't mean to come off condescending with these questions, just trying to get the simple things out of the way.
Are you sure its the right part number for you application? Also, how did you install it? To install you must rotate the pulley forward, then block it off to keep it from rotating. Once the cable is installed, carefully release the pulley then allow the pulley and gear set to find its natural settling point (if that makes sense). |

Are the individual side cables moving freely? Possibly rusted.
Have you tried removing the cables from the e-brake lever on the caliper and then tried to compress the lever/spring assembly to make sure it contracts and expands fully and easily? |

You have the wrong part, they should be two different part numbers. I work at part source and see it all the time. I'm guessing they dont carry the cobra e-brake cable so they would just sell you a GT one thinking they were the same. Match the part numbers man!

so is the whole handle assembly pushed towards the rear of the car as if the cable is too short?

Rights sides part number is C94840. Left side is C95240. The center one should be BRCA47 i believe.

ok, did you stick then pin in the rachet to prevent it from winding up?
![]() this happened to me, you just need to un wind the rachet and move the handle forward. |
