shelby into a 2002 gt

i am looking at a 2008 shelby that i can get for parts. the car is a rollover and the drive train seems ok. what am i looking at to put this drive train into a 2002 gt

i would do it myself if it does not require cutting and welding

I would say it will almost certainly need custom fab work to get it to fit. I would be hesitant to use a rollover drivetrain. That would create alot of weird stresses it was never designed to handle.

the only thing that you'll really be able to use is the basic motor & even then you'll need a few adaptors.

the rear end wouln't fit period & the trans isn't an upgrade or worth the fab work to get it in there.

bottom line? it's not a very good idea.

if you feel the need to swap to a 3v motor, just buy the motor not the whole car (unless the whole car is under 1000.00)

like casper said...if you gettin the complete car cheap get it...just use the motor and harness..but it in the gt with a lil suspension and bust some ass...you can sell the tr6060 and drive shaft for about 1500

and can sale the brakes,shocks,and struts also quick...

Is this a GT500, or a regular Shelby GT? First thing that popped in my mind was a GT500 with the 5.4 4 valve and supercharger. But casper mentioned 3 Valve and it could be a regular Shelby GT as well.

If it's a regular Shelby GT, then I would just pass on it if I were you(I think it's a GT500 though or else you wouldn't be asking).
