Question about alternator"S"
Good day all,
I have posted on here a few times and also used this site for great reference. We need to replace the alternator. Took it to auto-zone where they told me this and also I did the multimeter test and get the same results. My question is, what alternator should I get? Do I go with the auto-zone lifetime warranty, the OEM part on some online site or should I attempt to have the original rebuilt then install it back OR do i get the chrome one from americanmuscle.com The car has JLT CAI w/ SCT tune, Pypes duals (full) and Pioneer touch screen. I dont think the Head Unit is pulling alot of amps that I need a alternator that has more then the average amperage. So if anyone has some info to shoot my way or suggestion please let me know. Thank you in advance for all your help. If there are post about this somewhere . I tried using the search engine but .

Good question! The only real reason you would need to upgrade the amperage of your alternator is if you were running amps/subs/mids/highs/lows/etc. Your head unit will not be cause to have to upgrade amperage output. For your car, I would suggest the Chrome Alternator - 135 Amp (07-08 V6) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! as it will not only dress up the engine bay quite a bit, but it will also provide you with the performance and value you are looking for! I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions in the future!

AMSTANGER,
Thanks for the reply. Im thinking of just going straight to autozone so i can get the alternator installed today. Im just looking for a quick write up on the removal and installation of the alternator. I HATE THESE SEARCH ENGINES. |
