Possible to keep Passenger airbag on?

I own a 2008 GT and I'm wondering if it's possible to somehow keep the passenger airbag on? My wife weighs like 98lbs so the light is constantly going on and off when she rides with me. Does anyone know of a way to wire it or something to stay on?

98lbs wife FTW.

I'm not familiar with how the safety switch works but I am sure it is under the passenger seat and if it is just a two wire lead just splice them together.

Well maybe your bookbag weighs more than my wife lol. I'll see if I can find someone who's smart enough to do something like that with it

The only other option is to have her carry around a bowling ball Wherever. You. Drive.

Don't you want the light to be Off? Meaning the SRS is working on the passenger side to protect your wife. According to my 05 owners manual the pass air bag is also disabled automatically if the seat is empty and the air bag light off will not illuminate.

Thanks Lime for reminding me that the dealership still hasn't gotten me my owners manual like two months later. But yeah I need it off when she's in the car. Just got my words mixed up

There will most lekely be a two wire switch under the seat. It would be easy to remove the seat bolts, locate the switch, connect the wires together and have the airbag on at all times. However the sea should recognise your wife. You should take it back to the dealer and get a new switch for free.

I think that it's more than a two wire... To me it sounds like the switch is working correctly. It's weight sensitive so if something isn't heavy enough to trip the sensor, the light will be off and the air bag will be off. If the switch detects that there is someone there, but it's reading their weight as a child, the light will be on and the bag will be off. If it detects the weight of an adult, the light will be off and the bag will be on.

I'm pretty sure that's how this works. Also be careful about unplugging and rewiring that. I believe if you unplug it could cause your SRS light to come one.
