Mustang GTS Question

Okay, long story short.. I got rid of my 86' Mustang a WHILE ago.. I then bought an 84' Mustang GT 5 speed that was decent for the 1300 I paid. Well, now I had a MAJOR electrical short with the Headlights and they dont work. Replaced headlight switch, turn signal switch, and fuses. Nothing works. The issue with this post is that in the process of selling my car, a guy texts me and says hed like to buy my car for cash when he sells his "1996 Mustang GTS".. I said Well what is wrong with your stang? He tells me it drives fine, but idles like $hit, itll idle for a minute but surge and bog and eventually die.. I asked if hed trade, and hes down. So I wanna.. But yeah anyways.. Okay, so here is where the issues come in.. ONE: It is a 1996.. I thought GTS Stangs were only 1995?? TWO: It has a wing on it.. Thought GTS had no wing?? So now i ask you all..When were GTS Mustangs made?? Only 1995 Right? Even if it isnt a GTS(which I dont think it is..) I am still going to trade if hes down and if its nice.. Here is the link to the car BTW.. 96 Mustang Gts

P.S. Sorry if this is the wrong thread.. But I didnt know where to put it!!!

It looks like a regular GT to me, plus I didn't think those wheels came on 96's if it's all stock. You could always ask my good friend Google. He knows lots of stuff

Ford did away with the GTS designation in 1996, replacing it with the 248A package. The 248A package continued to be offered until the end of the 1998. Do you got the VIN? Because the vin # should indicate if it was a GT or GTS (as he claims) And obvious external characteristics of a GTS are the absence of a rear decklid spoiler and lack of fog lamps in the front airdam. Inside the windows and door locks are manual. Only the driver and passenger side mirrors are powered.

If you get it look for a sticking iac valve or a vacume leak.
