94-98 GT or 99-04 GT?

I'm about to turn 16 and I have been looking at the 2 different body styles I listed in the title. There are a lot of clean 99-04 GT's out there so when you see one you don't really think much about it. On the other hand when you see a clean 94-98 GT you just can't stop staring. Will you guys please give me your opinions on the 2 body styles? I need to make a decision on which one I want...

Thanks,
Zach

I've been in love with the 99-04's since they came out. I just recently saw how nice the 94-98's look. Thanks for the help!

I would go with a 96 and later. The 94-95 had 5.0 motors and less power. Personally I like the new edge 99-04. The other ones look like crap thrown together.

parts for 5.0's are cheaper and easier to come by.

i personally dont like how the 94-98's look stock but they look amazing with some appearance mods. if you want a 4.6, id go with a 99-04.

All parts are easy to come by when you know where to look.

if youre going to cam a car, why use a stage one. you also threw out numbers, no links to anything.

you can also pick up heads for a 5.0 for cheaper than that.

id like to see where you found stage 1 comp cams for $200 Comp Cams Stage I Xtreme Energy XE262AH Mustang Camshafts (96-04 4.6L 2V) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

The heads are stage 21 and the cams are stage 1. If you run a stage 2 cam with stock pistons you will run into problems. Links are not needed as I said you need to know where to look. After I buy my cams I will post a link. And 5.0 cams will not be any cheaper and stage 2 heads at 900 for a 5.0 will be used.

problems depend on the cams. you can have issues running stage 1 cams. ive heard of plenty of people installing cams that dont need new springs or anything like that and having the springs collapse after install.

lol why wont you post a link? makes no sense... you dont have proof on buying $500+ cams for $200 and your $1400 heads for $900. granted if you found someone just getting rid of shit, yeah it happens. there is nothing wrong with used heads either, ive seen used 5.0 heads go for a lot cheaper than $900.

I would get whichever one better fits your budget and is in the best condition. Both cars look tame in stock form and are underpowered when compared against the competition.

The heads are on Summit racing for 900 bucks as for the Cams, they are on a site that sells off items used for magazine shoots. If I were to post the link then someone else would bid them up on the site and I would have to outbid more people. That's why I said after I get the cams I will post a link. Also waiting for the Edlebrock victor JR intake as well. Might get it for 220.

The ford racing heads on summit are nothing special. They're just PI heads. That's what's on your car now.

OP like Taintedstang said, get whichever one u come by that fits your budget. if you want a 5.0 get a 94-95. 4.6 get 96-04 the new edge has more power tho. and with the right appearance mods both look equally beautiful.whats your price range? you can also find some 99, 01 cobra's in the low 10k range sometimes cheaper than that.

Dear god, what is with people saying 4.6 parts are cheaper?! they are abosolutley not. 1994-1998 Ford Mustang Cylinder Heads & Valvetrain Components at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Do any of those 4.6 parts look cheaper? I think not.

a cheap way to restore a high-mileage engine or upgrade from
lower-performance 1996-98 Mustang 4.6L heads. Head comes assembled with valve train and cam. Sold individually.

Dont really create power. That's not saying DONT create power.

I think they josh is saying the 5.0 parts are cheaper not the 4.6, which would be correct, and the other guy is saying they are both the same, which I don't think so.

I like both, but seeing as I have a 96, I would say get a 98 cobra or something if you could. I would take a new edge also though, but they are more expensive as well and I got this when I was 19 and paid on my own so I was basically broke....its came along pretty well I think though.
