Which tuner do I need?

I have a 96 mustang, soon to be turbo'd Which tuner do I need to tune the computer? I spoke to guy who does the dyno-tuning locally and he said the 98-04 tuners will not work, but then you go on sct's website and they offer the same tuner for both.

Maybe this guy doesn't know what the hell he's talking about? I know I don't

One more question, what is a good rate for dyno-tuning? Are their any good shops located in the Southeast near Savannah, GA?

Yes, because you asked him about about a 98-04 tuner. Of coarse it isn't going to work. And yes.... the data and meters is different from the two. This is what you need: SCT SF3/X3 Power Flash Tuner w/ 3 Free Custom Tunes (96-98 GT) - SCT 3015||38018

You could go that way. Me, I wouldn't flash and "canned" tune on a Turbo or S/C set-up. Instead I'd go to a dyno shop and A) have them burn a tune right onto the car itself or buy a "package deal" : Handheld tuner + Dyno Time + Custom Tune = Winning

The price? It all depends: Location and Reputation are key. I wouldn't just take my mustang to any shop. I'd take it to the best shop in your local area. (Can't help you there.)

For me a package deal is roughly 400-700 bucks.

From what he told me, they tune it through the sct tuner, kinda what you're saying about the package deal. Thanks for the help man. I have the X3, part number 3000.

Anyone know of a good dyno shop in the Savannah, GA area?
