Bigger gauge wire back to battery?

Would it be best to rewire the whole line back to fuse in front when running 2, ford gt pumps? what size wire would be suitable?

Depends. What exactly are you doing, and what kind of power are you pushing?

Keep in mind that the fuel pump power is wound up in the chassis harness. You'd have a hell of a time replacing it with a bigger one. What is often done is to run an 8ga wire straight from the battery to a relay and to the pumps. This is referred to as the "wiring mod."

Personally I did the dual GT's, with dual FPDM's, wired the pumps seperately with 14ga, and ran an 8ga 30A fused line to a relay for them, known as the "wiring mod." This may be totally and completely overkill for you though. If you're not pushing too much power, you may not need to re-wire anything.

Derek at WestCoast Mustangs does a good job of explaining it here-

He's also on this site under the name Black306 or something like that.

Sidenote: If you do wire the pumps seperately through the hat and want a quick disconnect, use trailer electrical connectors. I used the alternator extension and it kind of sucked. The trailer ones seal much better.
