Touch Choice..

So after selling my 2000 v6 mustang about 5 months ago and buying a 03 svt focus(which is a very fun car to drive) im looking to buy another. Now im looking to spend 2-3.5k on one. And in my area that gets me a 99-04 v6 with 120k+ miles, 95 GT with a 5.0 or a 94-98 GT both near 100k miles. So just here to get some suggestions...What would u guys do?

^highly agree with him. I say save up just a little more and keep checking craigslist and you may get lucky to get a great 99 -04 GT (I got a 99) for 4k like me XD

I agree with both ^^^. Save your $$ and buy one you really like, not one thats just in your price range. And it all depends on how long you plan on keeping it. The longer you want to keep it, the more $$ you need to save. Get a nice cobra. I wish I would of.

v6 you will never be happy with, it will never be the GT or Cobra you really want, and it will cost you ALOT of $$ to be able to compete with even stock GT's. The 94-95 5.0's re the bastard children of the 5.0's. dont buy one thinking all the cheap fox parts will work on them... they wont. theres alot of modification to be done to convert it so you can use fox parts. Once youve spent that money, you could have built a nice strong fox for much less. And the 96-98 GTs are just plain slow, dont get one unless you REALLY love that bodystyle, thats why i got mine, the 94-98 body is my favorite one. but to even think about making power in those cars, you have to first do a PI swap, which will basically make your motor into a 99-04 gt motor (H/C/I). And by the time you have done that swap, with the money spent for the swap, you could have combined it with your inital purchase price and bought a 99-04 GT and not had to go through any of the ass pains of a swap. Really the only 96-98's worth buying from a performance standpoint are the cobras.

I love my 96 gt to pieces. And with some gears and an exhaust i think it moves more than enough for me haha. If you dont really want to get into drag racing the 96-98 is a great choice. Although the engine is really limited to the stock heads. As a daily driver its awesome. If you really want to go fast then get a fox body. But if you want all the nice creature comforts then i would say go for a 96-98 gt. As slow as everyone says they are, i can pull away from a decently modded talon TSI awd and a Toyota MR2 with 14 psi. Its impressed me more than enough. If you are pretty mechanically inclined the PI head swap + some cams is a great option. It will make close to like 290 rwhp. I dont know. Everyone else will tell you to walk away from them haha. Make your own opinion.
