The only way I'd choose the gt is if you plan on completely building it. It will save you money at the start and have cheaper insurance too. If you are not going to go all out, Mach obviously

the Mach 1 FOR SURE, better brakes, better suspension, better bolt on power results, better gears, and the interior is night and day different from a gt, so freakin sexy, get the mach man! PLUS when everyone sees your mustang and asks the most common question "its it a gt?" you can say ha, no, its a mach 1.

And the mach 1 bridges the gap between mustang GTs and other rival cars of the same year like ls2 GTOs, c5 corvettes, ws6s. Freakin sweet to own a Mach 1 that can walk a corvette lol. Ive had 2 machs and im addicted

I gotta quit cause i could go on forever haha, get the mach man, youll never regret the extra money spent.

unless you absolutely have to have a 99-04, go straight to an s197.

a few minor bolt on's & they are just as quick (or quicker) than a mach 1 & you don't have to worry about the low insurance value if the car is totaled or the head problems of the mach 1's.

They do respond better to mods(the 3v) but with some ppl the looks of the car would make them lean more toward the 99-04. Some ppl love both body styles but others just dont care for the look of those s197s.

get a mach 1. they are awesome cars. solid rear end with 3.55 gears is great. decent power and awesome looks. it is a much much better car than a gt. i like the mach 1 more than the non supercharged cobras. the engines are good for about 450-480 rwhp on with a blower/turbo. and they cound drink 125-150 shots of nitrous without any complaints. i had one and i love it.

what ever is the better deal... I got my roush which is a gt then taken over to roush and made over. I was interested in Mach's and loved the idea of the shaker hood, then I saw a 2004 Roush with a shaker... I said why not go for the roush.. It only had 6900 miles on it... so pretty much brand new... Go with what you want, but also best deal... I realize it may be slower 2V than a 4V but you know what ? It is fun as hell to cruise around... Besides Life is a journey, not a destination... ENJOY

get a mach. I've got 2 friends with them. One is procharged and just over 500hp and the other is on a 150 shot. Both are pretty sick cars.

If price isn't an object and you can find a taken care of Mach 1, I think it's a no brainer. If money is an issue, you'll likely find a GT for much less than a Mach 1. Also, several Mach 1's I've seen have been beaten on hard. Not saying GT's don't get the same, just of the few Mach 1's I've seen, most haven't looked that great.

I don't think you need anyone else to convince you to get the Mach, but just in case don't settle for the GT you'll love the Mach.

Probably a weird question in the wrong place, but has anyone ever completed a 3V swap into a GT? Is the 3V even available as a crate engine?
