20 inch rims on a 2002 GT
Hey guys. I'm wondering would I have any clearance problems or need any other modifications to put on a set of 20 inch bullits? Aslo does anyone have any pics they can share? It would be greatly appreciated.

it seems to me like bigger rims look better on the new body style. on the new edge and older mustangs, they just don't look right. i think it's because the new stangs are bigger, for lack of a better word. i've seen lots of pics of s197's with big rims and, while it's not my thing, they look ok. not on new edge stangs though.

Thanks guy....I'm thinking I'll just go with the 18's......just want to eliminate some of the gap in the fender well.

20'' wheels don't look bad at all on the 05 and up mustangs, but they look horrid on all earlier mustangs.

put those 18's on there and then lower it a little bit and that will take care of that gap in the fender well.

17's are fine with me and even them have a rough ride i cant imagin 18's with rubber bands stretched over them.

Don't get 20's, you would look ridiculous. Stick to 17", or 18" rims.

agrees 17's then lowering springs would be your best bet.......... unless you want the ghetto fab look

Go 17"s if your a bit more into a lower cost and much wider tire selection for yourself. 18" are nice too, but I found the jump from 17" to 18" to start to really limit my tire selection. I'd go 18" if you have some sort of body kit on it and your going for that low sleek look. Go 17" and drop it, you'll fill the fender gap and it'll look really tough.
That and once you start going over 18" your looking at little teeny-tiny rubber band tires that are expensive as hell and your sure to damage everything on the next tiny pothole you find.

i had a 01 gt with the sport line drop and gt500 rims with 255/40/17 in front and 315/35/17 nittos in the rear and the tires fit the fenderwells perfect... not to mush but not too little about .5 to 1.5 inch gap it looked like it was ready for a roadcorse or autocross it was sweet youll like that look i promise.
