Garrett Turbo ?'s
Ok, So I've had this Garrett Turbo for about 6 years now sitting in my garage. I got it off a good friend of mine who works on F-Bodys and he was going to twin rear mount it on a Camaro.
It is a Garrett GT25 Ball Bearing turbo, oil or water cooled. Serial number 700716-5 I searched and it is from a 99 Isuzu 4.7L truck. Internally gated at 7 psi. Brand new so no shaft play or nothing. Comp side is a A/R .60, Turbine is a A/R .80. No trim specs. I did look on turbos by garrets website and the A/R sizes are almost identical to a GT2860R. Turbine on mine is .04 smaller, or the GT2860R has a turbine A/R of .84 1: How do I find the trim size 2: What rpm will this hit full spool 3: What RPM ranges will it be good for 4: Do I have to oil and water cool it or can I just choose one or the other? I'm going to kinda answer some of my own questions here but I just want verification. The website says: GT2560 Horsepower : 200 - 330 Displacement : 1.60L - 2.50L GT2860R Horsepower : 250 - 360 Displacement : 1.80L - 3.00L I know it is too small for the GT but my younger bro has a 94 Probe GT and he is interested in it and I wanna make sure it will work for his car before I give it to him and he spends a lot of money on a turbo set-up. |
