5/16 Barbed Brass Fitting?
Where would I get one of these?
I looked at Advance Auto, Pep Boys, AutoZone, Home Depot, Lowes, NAPA,and pretty much every other hardware and auto parts store around me and I can not find a 5/16 inch straight barbed fitting. They all tell me 5/16 is not popular so they do not carry nor sell it. Lowes even told me they were Restricted from selling it. I am asking because I am doing the 4v swap and have to lengthen the 2 fuel lines about 18" and I need 4 of these. Do you think I can use a 1/4" fitting inside the 5/16 hose and clamp down really tight or squeeze the 5/16 hose over a 3/8 fitting? Either way how long would they last? I have 43/8 fittings and 4' of 3/8 hose so I would only be squeezing the stock fuel lines onto the fittings. I also have 4' of 5/16 hose if I can go the 1/4 route and I'll just return the 3/8 fittings and get 1/4" ones. This is the only thing holding this swap up and its getting very frustrating. |

I looked on their website and they don't sell any.
Can I use a plastic barb fitting? or do you think that will crack or degrade with the fuel system? I would like to use brass but if plastic is all I can find then I'll just have to use that. http://www.tractorsupply.com/green-l...n-barb-2114758 |

Try Graingers or McMaster Carr.

McMaster-Carr only carries a 5/16" in plastic, not brass. I'd bet the same is true with Grainger.
