question on cobra intake?

i just thought of this for some reason, i'm always looking for parts trying to decide what i want to do with my car etc... but i never see after market intakes for the 4v, just curious why? is the stock one just that good or does nobody really make one? and i'm going to ask my stupid question, will a cobra intake fit on a 2v?

Wont fit! And well I think I have seen a few 4V intakes aftermarket, but I being that its aluminum, it can be ported and polished which makes it better as it is also a 2 piece!

That and whatever part is available for the Cobra costs 2x as much as it does for a GT. I guess Cobra owners just have a better base to start on so we don't have to upgrade as much. Being not as experienced in this car as my old, I find it a pain though. When something lists 79-04 or something, I really really have to think hard on if it will work / research if it will work; many places are NOT specific enough sometimes. It is almost common sense to me, I'm smart enough to catch on quick . However, 96-98 Cobras seems to be a real small window of years for parts. So few years yet slightly off from the 99/01. Now 03 / 04 have an aftermarket like hell even though 75% of it is a zillion dollars worth of rear end upgrades. :lala

However, even though I'm still in the clear, I sometimes wish I had a GT just so I could buy a bunch of different things to give me something to install / list that I did. :

Also, as for actual intakes there are a couple out there that are supposedly good, but I think you have to find them directly through the guy who makes them or something. I don't even count what Ford has, they want small children for most of their products.

My main reason for never changing my intake is it makes me remember how much I'd love to have a Kenne Bell. I'll probably not have one for multiple years, but I can dream. That and the stock Cobra intake looks really nice on the 96-98 in my opinion. (Sometimes I sort of value a bit of looks, not saying I wouldn't trade it out, but the aftermarket ones are so costly! For the air intake, I went with the K&N FIPK2 just so I could keep my stock strut bar. I'm odd.)

The stock cobra intake is a good intake. It supports enough airflow up to 7000 rpm and even higher with good porting. As for the 2v, there are several good aftermarket intakes out there.
